Leonardo Da Vinci vs. Jackson Pollock
Da Vinci
1452-1519
Italian painter, sculptor, architect, musician, scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist and writer
I actually don't feel much emotion when I look at Da Vinci's art. It's very realistic which doesn't seem that exciting to me.
Da Vinci uses line to make images of people to make his art, but the lines themselves are not the art
Pollock
1912-1956
American artist
Abstract expressionist
I like the abstractness of Pollock's art. His color choices are appealing to me. He uses a nice balance and his lack of exactness makes it easy for more people to open their minds to see different things.
In his paintings, the lines themselves are the art.
